One thing that makes Batman such an enduring hero, is his fantastic gallery of villains.  Two of those will feature on Fox’s Batman prequel series, Gotham.  Camren Bicondova will play Selina Kyle, the future Catwoman.  Meanwhile, Robin Lord Taylor assumes the role of Oswald Cobblepot, the future Penguin. A third prominent Batman foe has joined the fray. ” EW has learned the eagerly awaited Batman prequel series has also cast an actor as Edward Nygma (the future Riddler). Cory Michael Smith has landed the hot role. He’s tagged as guest star in the pilot with an option to expand into a series regular. Nygma is a brilliant young forensic scientist working for Gotham PD and has a penchant for speaking in … rather cryptic language. Inquisitive, eccentric and outgoing — yet socially awkward — he wants to be liked, but he doesn’t quite know how.”

Cory Michael Smith

I can’t comment on my feeling towards Cory Michael Smith’s acting ability, as I haven’t seen any of his work. In that sense he’s a real enigma for me, which is great for the role. (pun intended) To my knowledge, he is only the third actor to portray The Riddler in live actions. He follows the iconic performance of Frank Gorshin (Batman 66) and Jim Carey (Batman Forever)
